Choose how the controls appear on the page

You choose how the controls appear on the page in Settings, on the General tab under Display Mode. It works signed out.

Display modes​

Floating WidgetThe widget, a control panel you can drag anywhere on the page. This is the default.
Notification OnlyA small speed indicator when the speed changes, and no panel

The widget's Tools tab has the same choice under Display & Theme, where the two modes are labeled Floating and Notify.

Notification Only suits you when you drive everything from the keyboard, you already know your keys, and you want nothing sitting on top of the page while the video plays.

Widget settings​

These are on the General tab, under the display mode.

Out of the box the widget is Normal size and opens on a click.

Hide the widget​

Press Esc or Ctrl + Alt + H to hide the widget, and press again to show it.

To switch the whole extension off on one site, use Pause per site.

Change the theme​

Open the Appearance tab in Settings.

There is also a compact mode and a reduced motion switch. The 11 fonts come with the extension, and none of them is loaded from a remote font service.

Change the language​

Settings and the popup are available in English, Spanish, French and German: Auto-detect Language follows your browser's language, and Language lets you pick one yourself.

The widget is in English today. It stays in English when Settings is in Spanish, French or German.
