Moving from VideoControls
VideoControls is built on touch gestures. Ours is built on keys and an on-page widget, so this is a change of habit more than a move.
Last checked 2026-11-07. A touch-gesture player: tap to play, swipe to seek, swipe up for 2x, and auto-pause in the background. Check VideoControls yourself.
Move across
- Install Video Controls Plus for your browser: Install Video Controls Plus.
- Read which keys do what: Default keyboard shortcuts.
- Set up the widget: how the controls appear on the page.
- If swipes on a touch screen are why you use it, keep VideoControls. Our docs do not list touch gestures.
- Turn VideoControls off on your browser's Extensions page, so two extensions don't answer the same keys. Remove it once your own sites work.
Each browser keeps an extension's settings to itself, so nothing carries over. You set them once here.
Who is better off with which
- Choose VideoControls if you watch on a touch screen and want gestures for the basics with no settings page.
- Choose Video Controls Plus if you want keyboard controls you can rebind, A-B loop, filters, notes and an account that keeps them.

- We are not on Google Play today.
- On Facebook we only find the video. There are no special features for Facebook today.
- Our store listings name Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Brave is not named in them.
