Moving from Video Roll

Video Roll and Video Controls Plus overlap on speed, loops and filters. The move is mostly about setting those again and checking the audio and picture tools you rely on.

Last checked 2026-11-07. A video toolbox extension: speed, loops, filters, picture in picture, screenshots, downloads and audio tools, free with a Pro plan. Check Video Roll yourself.

Move across

  1. Install Video Controls Plus for your browser: Install Video Controls Plus.
  2. Set your speed: Control the playback speed.
  3. To use the A-B loop and video filters, connect your account first. Both need it.
  4. Video Roll lists rotate, VR mode, pitch and 3D surround. Read Visual effects and zoom and Audio tools and check what you use before you remove it.
  5. Turn Video Roll off on your browser's Extensions page, so two extensions don't answer the same keys. Remove it once your own sites work.

Each browser keeps an extension's settings to itself, so nothing carries over. You set them once here.

Who is better off with which

  • Choose Video Roll if you want rotate, zoom, VR mode and audio tools like pitch and 3D surround in one popup, and you do not need notes or an account.
  • Choose Video Controls Plus if you want your notes, watch later, history and settings in one account you can open on the website too, and special features for YouTube, Netflix and LinkedIn.
