Moving from Floating Video Player

Floating Video Player floats the video. That job is one key here, and it works without an account.

Last checked 2026-11-07. A picture-in-picture extension that floats the video over other windows while you keep browsing. Check Floating Video Player yourself.

Move across

  1. Install Video Controls Plus for your browser: Install Video Controls Plus.
  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + P on a video: Watch in Picture-in-Picture.
  3. If you want it to enter on its own when you scroll away, that switch is on the same page.
  4. Turn Floating Video Player off on your browser's Extensions page, so two extensions don't answer the same keys. Remove it once your own sites work.

Each browser keeps an extension's settings to itself, so nothing carries over. You set them once here.

Who is better off with which

  • Choose Floating Video Player if a floating window is all you need and you want nothing added to the page.
  • Choose Video Controls Plus if you want picture in picture and the rest: speed, A-B loop, filters, notes and an account that keeps them.
