Netflix and LinkedIn menu actions now run at once, and Settings shows only the switches and shortcuts that do something.

Netflix and LinkedIn menu actions now run at once, and Settings shows only the switches and shortcuts that do something. The website and the store descriptions were corrected to list only what the extension does today.

Improved: Netflix and LinkedIn actions run straight away. Opening a panel, starting a timer, exporting or downloading from the widget or the right-click menu now happens immediately. Before, most of these only switched the feature on and asked you to reload the page. On/off switches still apply after a reload.

Fixed: four LinkedIn tools that did nothing. Profile Backup, Message Export, Job Tracker and Job Alerts had a switch and a menu item and never ran. Each now performs its action from the menu. Response Tracker and Message Scheduler had no working part and were removed.

Improved: Settings that only show what works. The New Features page listed 127 switches, and only five of them changed anything. It now shows those five (gesture controls, VR / 360 mode, SponsorBlock, ad accelerator, scroll-wheel volume) with the scroll-wheel options. The Netflix switches are in the Netflix section, as before.

Improved: keyboard shortcuts that all do something. 64 shortcut entries that had no effect were removed from Settings. That frees their keys. The mini-mode key and the Player Overlay display option also did nothing and are gone, and the shortcut group that was titled "v10 Features" is now called Bookmarks.
Ctrl + Alt + F
now opens and closes the filters tab, and
Ctrl + Alt + O
adds a bookmark at the current moment.

New: info button on two more LinkedIn panels. The post performance overlay and the quick preview card now carry the same info button as the other panels, and it explains what the panel is and how to use it.

Improved: descriptions that match the extension. The website, its license catalog and the store listings named tools that are not in the extension yet. They now list only what you can use today, with the real shortcut keys and the features that need a sign-in.

When the extension clears Netflix's 'device isn't part of the Netflix Household' screen, Netflix hides its own player controls.

When the extension clears Netflix's "device isn't part of the Netflix Household" screen, Netflix hides its own player controls, so keyboard controls now take over in that case. Every keyboard shortcut can be changed. A key can belong to only one shortcut, and your shortcuts follow you when you are signed in.

New: Netflix recovery controls. After the extension clears the Household screen, Netflix keeps its player controls hidden. Only then, keyboard controls switch on:
Space
to play or pause,
←
/
→
for 10 seconds,
Shift + ←
/
Shift + →
for 1 minute,
Ctrl + ←
/
Ctrl + →
for 5 minutes,
Ctrl + 0
to
Ctrl + 9
to jump to the start or 10% to 90%,
Ctrl + -
to jump to 1 minute before the end,
V
for subtitles,
B
for the audio track, plus volume, mute and fullscreen. A small notice on the player tells you they are on and links to the full list.

New: change any shortcut, one key per action. Every shortcut, including the new Netflix ones, can be given another key in Settings, on the Keyboard Shortcuts tab. If the key you pick already belongs to another shortcut, you are told which one, with a link that takes you to it.

New: shortcuts follow you when signed in. Your key bindings are saved in this browser and, while you are signed in, to your account, so another device picks them up the next time you open Settings on it.

Fixed: announcements that never appeared. Four places where the Video Controls Plus team can post announcements (the Settings banner, the popup card, the one-time card and the opt-in notification) were showing nothing. They work now. Each one reads at most 20 entries.

The team's other apps get a permanent home in Settings, and the promotional panel comes off the top of every Settings page.

The team's other apps get a permanent home in Settings, and the promotional panel comes off the top of every Settings page, so only one banner can sit above your settings.

New: "More from the developer" tab. Settings has a new tab that collects the team's other apps in one place, with a logo, a short description and a link for each. Until now the list appeared only as one step of the welcome page, so skipping setup meant losing it. The list is bundled with the extension, and nothing is fetched to show it. Opening a product is not tracked.

New: "More apps" in the popup. A link at the bottom of the popup opens that tab directly.

Improved: a calmer Settings page. The promotional panel that sat above every Settings page moved into the new tab, so Settings opens to your settings. A banner that does appear there stands down while the "finish your setup" reminder is showing, so two are never stacked.

Improved: clearer store listings. The Chrome, Edge and Firefox listings now describe which parts of the extension link to the team's other apps, and the Chrome "contains ads" question is answered: self-promotion only, with no ad network, ad SDK or tracking involved.

AI features arrive (video summaries and LinkedIn writing help), playback controls reach videos embedded on other sites.

AI features arrive (video summaries and LinkedIn writing help), playback controls reach videos embedded on other sites, and every Netflix extra becomes opt-in.

New: AI features. A new AI Features tab lets you summarize videos and get LinkedIn writing help. Use a small daily allowance after you sign in, bring your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, or run a local model. Every AI feature falls back to the built-in generators when AI is not available.

New: controls for embedded videos. Floating controls, keyboard shortcuts and right-click actions now work on videos embedded in other websites, like YouTube or Vimeo players inside articles and courses. The extension loads into an embedded frame only when it contains a video.

Improved: Netflix features are opt-in. Netflix extras are off by default, and you turn on the ones you want in Settings, on the Netflix Features tab. Existing setups were reset once. That way everyone starts from the same place.

Improved: accurate Netflix watch-time and limits. Watch-time tracking and viewing limits now count only while a video is playing in a visible tab, so a background tab does not use up your daily limit.

Fixed: per-site pause stays on this device. The list of sites you paused the extension on no longer syncs across devices.
